At the University of Washington Tacoma, I co-founded the Student Association for Mechanical Engineering (SAME) to create a space for mechanical engineering students to gain hands-on experience and professional growth opportunities. As a rocketry-focused club, SAME provides students with practical design and build experience through participation in rocketry competitions, while also emphasizing career development by inviting industry professionals to share their insights. In my leadership role, I manage outreach to companies, host meetings, run the club’s social media, and coordinate events that connect students with both technical challenges and professional opportunities. (February 2024 – Present)
As president of the Student Association for Mechanical Engineering’s rocketry team, I oversee three engineering sub-teams: propulsion, avionics, and structures to coordinate the design and integration of our projects. Our current focus is the development of an L1-class rocket, where we are applying engineering principles across multiple disciplines while ensuring compliance with airspace regulations and safety requirements. This role has allowed me to guide technical progress, support collaboration between teams, and help students gain hands-on experience in mechanical and aerospace engineering.
